Questions about Rightlever
For thought leaders considering an interview and the communications teams helping them assess it.
We will never charge a thought leader to speak in a Rightlever-represented interview or for the resulting editorial feature.
Rightlever is the PR and editorial outreach arm of a global media network. Its journalists interview industry subject-matter experts and turn their firsthand perspectives into stories across specialist publications. Rightlever does not sell services to the thought leaders it interviews.
Rightlever is a PR entity whose work with thought leaders is editorial: journalist-led outreach, interviews, and publication of expert perspectives. An invitation from Rightlever is an invitation to contribute to a story in a specialist publication. It is not an offer to purchase PR services or pay for placement.
Rightlever and Outlever are related brands with different roles. Rightlever is Outlever’s PR and editorial outreach arm, and the public identity used by its journalists. Outlever works with organizations to build and operate publications. Thought leaders speak with Rightlever as editorial sources; they do not need to become Outlever customers or purchase anything to participate.
Rightlever is the shared affiliation used by journalists working across the publication network. A journalist may therefore list Rightlever on LinkedIn while preparing a story for a particular industry title. The journalist handling an invitation can identify the intended publication and share examples of their work.
The network includes State of Brand, State of AI, Data Wire, CIOnews, Talent Signal News, Brand Beat, CMO Wire, and The Intelligence Record. We also operate dozens of other specialist publications. Each title has its own editorial focus and audience; the publication cards on this page introduce a selection of them. The State of Thought Leadership is a forthcoming title, launching in late fall 2026.
Our editorial conversations span AI orchestration and enterprise transformation; data, sovereignty and GRC; cybersecurity; finance and markets; people and work; brand, growth and go-to-market strategy; retail and consumer; operations and industry; federal and public sector; and energy. The topic wall shows examples of the questions explored across these areas, rather than a complete article inventory.
Not yet. The State of Thought Leadership is a forthcoming publication scheduled to launch in late fall 2026. It will explore expertise, credibility, and how original ideas earn influence. Its current page introduces the publication and its planned editorial focus; it is not yet a live article archive.
Across the network, more than 7,000 interviews have been conducted. We engage with the majority of the Fortune 500 through editorial conversations with executives and subject-matter experts. Featured conversations on this page include experts from U.S. Bank, Red Hat, Zoom, Microsoft and other major organizations, with roles and affiliations shown as published. The company-logo wall presents selected interviewee affiliations; those interviews do not imply corporate endorsement.
Ask the journalist for the intended publication, proposed topic, their role in the story, and examples of published interviews. Review the publication’s recent reporting, contributor attribution, and ownership or sponsorship disclosures. This page’s publication overview and interview examples provide a starting point; the story cards open the original articles in a new tab. Confirm the format, attribution, and any review arrangements directly before agreeing to the conversation.
Never. Thought leaders will never be charged to participate in a Rightlever-represented editorial interview or for the resulting editorial feature. There are no interview, placement, publication, or required-subscription fees. Participation does not require buying a service, becoming a customer, or entering a commercial relationship with Rightlever, Outlever, a publication, or its sponsor.
No. Rightlever strongly opposes charging thought leaders for the editorial opportunities it invites them to contribute to. We are aware that some businesses make payment a condition of an interview or feature, and we take issue with presenting that model as an editorial invitation. Our invitations are based on relevant expertise, and our no-fee commitment is permanent.
The network includes Outlever’s own publications and publications operated for customers. Some titles disclose a company sponsor whose support funds their reporting. The relevant publication’s disclosures explain its relationship. That commercial support is separate from participation: interviewees are not charged and do not need a relationship with, or to endorse, a sponsor.
No. Contributing expertise to an editorial conversation does not by itself imply endorsement of Rightlever, the publication, its sponsor, or a product. It does not make the participant or their employer a customer or commercial partner. Company names and roles identify the context of a contributor’s experience.
Yes. Include your communications or PR team when replying to the journalist so they can coordinate the topic and arrangements. If your organization requires approval to speak publicly, explain that requirement before the interview. The journalist can discuss the proposed publication, scope, and any constraints with your team.
Confirm the review process with the journalist for the specific publication and story. Ask whether a draft or quotations will be shared, what factual corrections can be submitted, and the review deadline. Do not assume that an invitation includes final editorial approval or a particular review arrangement across every title.
Our journalists seek people with firsthand experience of the subjects they cover. An invitation means your work or perspective may contribute to a relevant industry story. You do not need to be a customer, partner, or existing contact of Rightlever or the publication to be considered.
Yes. Use the Pitch us form to share the topic, relevant firsthand experience, and why it matters now. The form asks for your name, email, company or organization, role or title, and pitch. A LinkedIn URL is optional. You may pitch yourself or someone you represent. Submitting a pitch does not guarantee an interview or publication, and editorial participation is always free. If you already received an invitation, reply directly to the journalist handling it.
The journalist can share the proposed topic and editorial angle. Useful contributions include decisions you have made, tradeoffs you have encountered, lessons from your work, and examples that help readers understand the subject. Bring your expertise rather than a sales presentation, and identify anything you are not authorized to discuss.
Ask the journalist to confirm the expected duration, format, and whether recording is planned. Arrangements can vary by publication and story. Discuss any recording or accessibility requirements before the conversation begins.
An editorial interview is intended to inform a published story. Before speaking, agree with the journalist on attribution and any limits on what can be used. Do not share confidential, proprietary, or employer-restricted information. If you want any portion treated as off the record or on background, request and agree those terms before sharing it.
The journalist can identify the intended specialist publication and its readership. Across the network, coverage reaches enterprise and mid-market decision-makers in a wide range of industries. Network-level reach is not a promise of a particular audience size or number of impressions for an individual article.
Named expertise is central to these conversations. Confirm how your name, title, affiliation, and any quotations will be presented with the journalist. If your employer has attribution requirements or your role changes during the process, flag that before publication.
Confirm the proposed schedule and publication plans with the journalist. An invitation alone should not be treated as a guarantee of a publication date, final headline, article format, or audience reach. The arrangements for the individual story are the relevant reference.
Do not pay. A request for an interview, placement, or publication fee contradicts Rightlever’s policy. Verify the request through the publication’s own website and contact information before proceeding, rather than relying only on links or payment instructions in the message.
